Jobs, Jobs, Jobs

If you hear any Bush supporters bragging about job numbers, take them to task for it and send them a copy of today’s Krugman column. Job performance in the Bush administration has been abysmal. Now, I happen to be one of those folks who believes that the economy is cyclical, regardless of who is in office, and that we shouldn’t necessarily hold the president responsible for the direction that the economic wind is blowing. We should, however, hold the president responsible for his actions: irresponsible tax cuts and undisciplined spending leading to enormous budget deficits. Claiming that the job numbers of the last several months represent economic strength does nothing but continue a pattern of lies and deception.
